Oil on linen with gold and copper leaf. 193x106 cm
This painting depicts the view from my morning walks on Aksla in Ålesund Sentrum. In late fall it was still possible to catch the sunrise and not start the day too late. You look across to Sulafjell and Langevåg and if you're lucky you can see the top of Jønshornet, one of my favourites and maybe the most iconic mountain top here in Sunnmøre.
You can even see the 'Hurtigbåt', the ferry, that goes across from Ålesund centre to Langevåg.
The details I chose to do in a very rough manner, so that the painting works best seen with distance, as it blurs beautifully together and doesn't take the eye away from the mountain tops.
It comes with a simple gallery frame, which can be easily changed, if that is desirable, depending on your interior.
