For the Adventure Seekers and Home Lovers.
Most of my landscapes are inspired by my surrounding.
I do a lot of plein air paintings (outdoor on location). My bigger works I paint in the studio, but usually they have been inspired during a hike or outdoor activity. Norway offers so much inspiration, it is almost frustrating, as I can't paint everything I want to, but I am trying my best to capture the inspiration.

Plein Air Painting
"Color is my daylong obsession, joy, and torment. " – Claude Monet
I couldn't say it any better. Plein Air painting simply means painting outdoors on location. It's almost a sport of sorts, as you are chasing scenes with all it's shifting lights.
I love combining travel with painting and almost always have my paintbox with me. Here is a slideshow of some works in shot on location. There are paintings to be painted everywhere I turn and I try my best to capture what I can.

Norwegian large scale works
These ones were a series I painted titled 'Vinterhimmel' in 2020. Once the seasons turn to fall and winter the light dwindles up here where we live and the storms roll in more frequently. Even though there is less light, it is quite a fascinating one, as the weather spectacles and shifts of light play their own drama in the sky including the mountains and sea. Sometimes you don't know where the mountains stop and the clouds begin and I like that almost every minute it can be a completely new scene. You can choose to be gloomy, or you can turn the light on. That#s why I incorporated Metal leaf as reflective aspects in these paintings. So depending on how the light shifts in your home, the painting either reflects and illuminates or darkens. It is a tribute to the moody ever shifting fall and winter on the west coast.
